NEWS AND EVENTSThe youth will have their “Winter Retreat” on Friday and Saturday, January 30th and 31st at Lake Tomahawk Baptist Encampment. The registration cost for the retreat is $35.00. Your reservation and money is due by today January 11th. Matt Edwards will be the speaker with Justin Johnson leading the music. Make plans now to attend. Super Summer is planned for June 7-11. The cost is $190.00. Your registration is due by February 8th. See your youth leaders for more details. The Homebound Ministry is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. this Tuesday morning. We will be visiting the homebound and elderly in our community. We need your assistance with our Fellowship Meal ministry. Please remember to call in your reservations (or cancellations) for the meal prior to Tuesday noon. If you are planning to bring guests and friends, please let us know. A free meal is provided to all first time attendees once they have attended our church, preferably on Sunday mornings. Please help us by eating at church and not taking meals out. “40 DAYS OF PURPOSE” PRAYER GROUPS: In order to prepare our hearts for the “40 Days of Purpose” campaign, our church is forming special small prayer groups for the next fourteen weeks. The purpose of these prayer groups is to pray for each other, our church and our community, to pray for God to speak to our hearts, to pray for revival, and to pray for the “40 Days of Purpose” campaign. We need individuals and families to host a small group in their homes. You may want to be a leader, but meet in someone else’s home. Ideally, there will be seven people in each group. The prayer group will meet one day a week, maybe early in the morning, at 10:00 a.m., at lunch time, in the afternoon, or in the evening. Students could meet prior to or after school, maybe even at lunch. The host of the group will set the time for their group to meet. In your bulletin this morning are prayer cards. Please complete one for each person. Note what times and days you are available to meet. Place your card in the offering plate or give it to Mike & LaVera Bradford or Bro Tony. The prayer host of your prayer group will contact you this week about your first meeting time and location. There will be a meeting this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. for those who are willing to host a prayer meeting or to serve as a prayer leader. God bless you! BOOKS: - We will reorder additional “Purpose Driven Life Books” at the beginning of February. If you have not already purchased a book, please turn in your request for a book (s) to the church office. We will have a limited supply available on the first Sunday for guests. Please do not procrastinate. Every adult will need access to a book in order to read the devotional materials. If you are inviting a guest, I suggest you purchase a book for them. I suggest that you say something like, “We are having a special campaign at church starting February 22nd. I would like to invite you to attend. If you will come, I will buy you a book.” If someone needs a book and does not have the funds to purchase a book, please let Bro. Tony know and he will secure a free book for them.
