Plan of Salvation

 

Do you know for certain that you will have eternal life and that you will go to heaven when you die?

OUTLINE FOR THE STEPS TO SALVATION

1. God loves us. (John 3:16)

2. Understand that we are sinners. (Romans 3:23)

3. Understand that there is a cost to sin. (Romans 6:23a)
   Physical Death (Separation of body and spirit)
   Spiritual Death (Separation from God = hell)

4. God provided a way to escape hell and separation from God through
   Jesus Christ. (John 14:6)

5. God provided eternal life as a gift. (Romans 3:26b, John 3:16)

6. We cannot earn this gift by being good. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

7. We must repent (turn from) our sin. (Luke 13:3, Acts 3:19)

8. We must believe that Jesus:
   Loves us (John 3:16)
   Will save us (Acts 2:21)
   Died for us (Romans 5:6)
   Will forgive us (1 John 1:9)

9. We must pray, believing that Jesus is God and that He died for our sins, telling Jesus that we will turn from our sins, and asking Him to forgive us and save us. (Romans 10:9-13)

10. If we do this, we are saved and the Lord will come into our heart.
    We will receive the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)

11. In asking Jesus to save us, we will:
    a) Confess Jesus publicly. (Matthew 10:32-33)
    b) Follow Christ in baptism. (Acts 2:41)
    c) Become active in a local Church. (Acts 2:41-42, Hebrews 10:25)
